I have a bathroom that has terrible sewage smell. It’s so bad that I keep getting headaches. Do they vent drains in Thailand? Any recommendations on what the problem / fix would be? Thank you 🙏

We stayed in a hotel in Vang Vieng once wherein as I was overtaken by the stench of assgass I noted that all the bathrooms fans exhausted into the main hallway of the joint.
Talk about a piss poor design. We checked out that morning never to return.Comment

Oh, proper drains should have what's known I believe as a "P" trap. It should have been called an "s" trap as it resembles an "s" set on its side. The pipe is set in this fashion to hold drain water in the " loop seal" to keep gasses from backing up through the sink.
The same design is incorporated into the modern "Crapper" for the same reason. A vent stack will allow for proper flushing while the bile travels to the sewer or septic without siphoning off the loopseal thereby keeping the people space free of fish gasses....ie; the SEPTIC stench of......

Bottom line, if plumbed properly you may have a birds nest in your vent pipe causing you to blow a seal.
