What is the best city you have been to in Asia and why?

'Best' city I've been to in Asia (& prolly the world) has gotta be Sydney- clean, beautiful beaches & harbor, cosmopolitan, no more expensive than the other expensive Asian cities.

Australia has never and will never be considered as part of Asia . . . as it is its own continent, ergo sum = Sydney ain't no Asian city, though you have made a very good choice - loved growing up there.

Sydney is definitely not in Asia, but in a world of its own.
I flew through Sydney up to Cairns. Northern Queensland is gorgeous.

Hong Kong is very expensive, but I heard that you can get some good buys over there (electronics especially).

Busan, Korea is my favorite city in Korea. The second biggest city in South Korea that sits on the southern coast.

Modern first! (infrastructure, transit system, and what seems to be some type of coherent city planning system, etc) but women did help a little with the decision.

Tokyo of course with Singapore 2nd. Everywhere else is a third world shit hole. Not just the infrastructure, the Japanese are CIVILISED.

Must say when I lived in BKK, I enjoyed the place,we lived away from the madness,in Don Muang which had everything you needed,or wasn't far away.

I really like Kuala Lumpur mainly due to the fact of the different ethnic mix there and the city is far more organised then most other S.E Asian cities.

Oh and the Indian Food there is superb!
