      • Popped to the shops on the way home yesterday evening; sun shining and stormy winds had abated and I thought Spring had finally arrived. I was only in the shop 10 minutes but when i came out I was met by blustering snow, which needed sweeping from the car.

It's a cool 8C today but the sun is shining and everyone is out on their bikes....

        Welcome back to Bavaria...

        • A scorcher here in Ubon. Wasn't too bad until the breeze died down early arvo, and then yikes. Prolly the hottest day so far this year. It seemed to me to be nudging 40.

            • Here in N.E Chiang Rai its the worst I've ever known.
Whilst we all know about the air pollution in Chiang Mai and, latterly, in Chiang Rai, but we're up in the mountains a bit and we aren't normally affected.

              We are now.

              Horrible.

36 degrees as I write ( 14.20) Visibility is maybe 1 km at most.

I went for a ride on the bike earlier on. Only an hour or so and got back, showered, and the water ran red from the dust and shit in the air.

              Sneezing and coughing.

Only one thing for it and that's sealing oneself off in an air-conditioned bedroom and watch movies, read books and shag until it rains.

                  Absolutely not.

                  I want rain.

The spectacular thunder storms we normally get at this time of the year.
3-4 hours of downpour and tempest, normally from about 00.00 to 04.00
Then lovely clear clean air for the day.

                  We love it.

Incidentally, witnessed a full lunar eclipse yesterday night. Luvly.
