The getting old curse

Recently had a birthday , now managed to reach 66 and I'm now feeling a bit down , this getting old curse is not for me , am I the oldest forum member ?.

Why don't you just grow old gracefully or disgracefully?
I would choose the latter.

Thats a good reply , and one I may expect to come from some one who is still a youngster , old age and getting older seems to only be a possible curse for old people like my self , where has all the time gone , why every time I read the news yet another film star or celebrity from my youth has passed away , why do I think that I'm the oldest person I know , why is it when I watch a favorite old film , I keep thinking that every one in that film is now dead, why do I keep thinking of all the past things I should have done , why can't I turn the clock back , so many why's and not much time left . I wish my name was Daniel Webster .

I have reached the grand old age of 67 and outlook reminded me that its my daughters birthday tomorrow she will be 11 years of age, disgraceful an old bathplug at 67 with two daughters 13 and 11. but I am not down, having 2 pretty young girls around the house keeps me young.

Hi Peter Ive heard that having young children around has the magical effect of keeping you young , I too have a daughter ( step ) she's 17 and Ive been her father since she was 5. So how other than having two pretty young daughters around , do you try and keep positive about being 67 .
