I gave up on Thai pay TV some years ago, expensive with crap movies and commercial channels that are little but the same commercials played 20 times or more per hour.
I invested in a VCD player and shop the local Tesco for cheap movies- about 35 baht is the most I'll pay.
Have gotten some surprisingly good movies that were killed by the studios for political infighting no doubt, Below is a good example - but lost out on Big Stan last night. Should have known with Rob Schneider as writer and producer.
He plays a multi- millionaire diminutive time share con-artist about to be incarcerated for fraud. Worrying about getting raped he hires "The Master" to train him to kick ass. David Carradine reprises his Kung Fu role somewhat, this time as an aging, chain-smoking MMA expert. Had he already expired (found in a Bangkok hotel room dead by self- asphyxiation in sex play gone wrong according to Thai police ) before this role is what I wonder.
While there are a few laughs, the sheer drollery of the subject is not worth the buck I paid.
I give it a 1 star
