it will depend on the moderation level and the posters,

don't think it will last long though, SZ went through the same stages and ended in tears

not sure what happened to TD and who is behind it, but maybe political forum fatigue could explain it all

The once vibrant and candidly open forum has chased away [or banned or flounced] a great percentage of it's base of old-hands, certainly in the year or so since Eric's passing - the change is quite depressing.

When I log in I see a wall of news threads and and a few threads in other forum areas. Can we hide the news section? Hide Mid?

I like having the news show in the new posts feed. I can find out whats going on in the LOS here rather than go to 10 different other Thai related sites.

Yeah, quite an overdose with 2 newsbots spamming the board, it hides other threads further down.

I'd like to see more threads with members' personal experience in LOS, but I suppose one has to be content with the news threads one has, not the posters one wishes for...

In defence of Mid, he has a history of bringing to the attention of more quality, different, and alternative news/info items as opposed to the usual flood of insignificant and trivial "news" reports that one will find throughout all Thai-themed forums.

May seem to be overkill, yet I wouldn't trade the quality of subject over everyday trivial crap.
