Do Thais marry a farang to get citizenship in his country?
As for the original question, I know Thai girls who have married some god-awful fat bald farang just to be able to live and work in his country, .
Ok, so you know Thai girls . . . yet again your circle of friends would seem to include the 'god-awful fat bald farang' . . . and you base your assertion (you call it 'fact') on these girls . . .
Yes, I can see how you handle empirical data . . . your 'PhD' must have been wonderful. PhD? You?

PhD? You?
Read it slooooooowly. I said I know some Thai girls that did that. How did your very odd brain equate that to the farangs they married being friends of mine????
You are one very very odd person indeed, and one that is desperate to get at me with any foolish weapon you can come up with.
This is the silliest of ways to justify your own largely bigoted posts. Tourists do not live in London, mostly they stay in fancy hotels and visit tourist attractions where they are, quite justly, treated with respect. Local live in the boroughs where life is more raw like many other cities in the world. Have you been to New York, Bogata or Paris for example. There are some pretty seedy districts in them and elsewhere.
I was simply making the point that London is a more popular destination for the world's tourists this year than Thorm's beloved Bangkok, and that is despite costing more.
In the latest boost to the UK economy, London beat dozens of global commercial centres including Shanghai, Tokyo and Abu Dhabi. London and Paris are ranked global joint 2nd overall and joint 1st as the top European cities
In each of 24 countries we asked people to choose from a list of 48 major cities and asked which ones were the best to do business in, which were best to live in and which people most wanted to visit. London was one of only two cities to make the top five in EVERY category - the only other city that did as well was New York.

Do you realize just how many times you say 'I know' or 'in my opinion' or state something tantamount to that? Well let's talk about some psychology since you brought up the subject; most people who move abroad for the first time will go through four stages; the first will be that of novelty - news surroundings, something new, a feeling of adventure. The second they will become tired when they realize they are not at home and things are not going to be the same, the third is when they hate everything and everybody around them. The forth is when they just accept that they are in a foreign country and just live and let live. I suspect you left at the third point so your memories are bitter and angry as has already been pointed out. I haven't seen this mentioned on expat board yet but then many members have I suspect put such an experience behind them as well as having lived in various other parts of the world. You need to learn to live and let live.

Do please learn to read; you are still referring to tourists. Your point of contention is Thai society, by posting this you are just trying to move the goal posts to justify your own idiocy.

So, anyone who prefers the west to Thailand has "bitter and angry memories" of Thailand? That is such a blinkered self-serving opinion, and one which strongly suggests that you believe that any westerner will learn to prefer Thailand to the west, as long as they stay there long enough

That is not what I said; You are the one with the reading problem! You are the one with the 'blinkered self-serving opinion' as just about all your posts clearly show.
Thailand apologists are funny, and often claim that farangs who prefer not to live in Thailand failed there or had bad experiences.
Susceptible westerners become addicted to Thailand, just like others become addicted to heroin, and it takes over their life.
Then they have the audacity to say the equivalent of "Why are you criticising my use of heroin? You must have had a bad hit that made you bitter and angry about it" to anyone who chooses not to be a user and is vocal about their choice.

I read it quite correctly, thanks . . . and no-one needs 'weapons' to 'get to you' - you overvalue yourself far too highly.
All one needs is a modicum of brains and some logic . . . and you are toast
Nah, smeg is far too intelligent than this clown . . . aded to which, smeg has only ever claimed to be working on his MBA . . . and smog always says he will take a break, not like exexepat here, who flounced and then didn't, did, yet did not - only for certain threads - or not.
Who knows how badly this guy was treated in Thailand for him to be so bitter
It's always funny when losers who can't refute an argument resort to trying to identify, belittle and intimidate the poster behind the words that upset them so much
