It's a Non-Imm O which is obtained outside one's home country.

You either then, upon return to Thailand, opt for the Marriage Extension - 400K THB in the bank in your own name or 800k THB in the bank for Retirement Extension.

Health insurance is NOT required for the Non-Imm O visa normally obtained in Penang or Vientiane etc.

Many boys are now switching to the Non-Imm O specifically due to the no-insurance requirement.

If you use Bangkok Bank as I do for the 800K THB and you visit another branch to obtain the Letter based on your passbook issued from a different branch, it doesn't work.
