I would imagine you would need staff to run your venture but do you know what happens when you try to employ locals (I doubt you will be able to employ other foreigners)? There is good information in that link I supplied but it appears you ignore it at every mention. Do you know how much competition you will have? Do you know the Philippine tax structure which is complex and rigid? Have you examined what kind of a market there will be? I don't think so. Besides most businesses are long established and I doubt you will be able to compete given what appears a small market. There are not many areas where jet-skiing is allowed and where it is, is mostly away from the tourist areas. Time to do some research Socal or your heart and your wallet will soon ache.

Don't listen to all the negativity, socal. Seriously.
The Phils welcome foreign investment and entrepreneurs, not much red tape unlike LoS or the nanny states.
Head to one of the popular beaches for a holiday, go for a partnership with one of the local Phili resort/restaurant owners with beach access, buy 10 jet skis to start with - the biggest business pulls most punters - and watch the money roll in while you relax.
You don't even have to be there yourself - delegate, let the flipos run an efficient source of income - you'll be safe if a contract is signed with lawyers involved, maybe a local police commander as witness.Originally posted by Ergenburgensmurgen;n186588
What are you talking about, I don't post on Teakdoor.

Well I am sorry to p*** on your bonfire but in fact it is. Your post shows you have not done one iota of research but then what do I care if you get burned? Now just a minute didn't you ask what it's like going to The Philippines and now dismiss every worthwhile piece of information? Research Socal Research!

Are you insane ? Workers in nanny states have way more petty rights. They can sue employers for sexism, racism, petty harassment ect. Women can get jobs just to milk their maternity leave. Men can also milk maternity leave. You are opening yourself up to a world of risk and grief when you hire a nanny state deadbeat.

1st time had my pocket picked on the bus from the airport into town. Only an empty spectacles case put there as a giveaway to pick pockets so no loss there.
2nd time , 800 baht stolen from my passport pouch IN THE HOTELS SAFE !! Scummy hotel and I forgot to list the 800 baht on the list of things in said pouch. Amazingly...100 dollars was untouched.
3rd time....gang of kids surrounded me and attempted to pull my cheap watch off my wrist. Fail..but nice try.
4th time attempted pick pocket in back of jeepney. Guy next to you sits still whilst his friend next to him reaches around back for a grope. Another fail and almost a punch up as they made their escape.
5th time. Drunk on birthday and took two street walkers. BINGO....cleaned me out of $ 150 all bar a peso. They had a sense of humour. Luckily , German friend lent me some cash until I got more sent.
Be carefull in low life areas !!

Why shouldn't somebody somebody sue for sexism, racism, harassment? They are all crimes or maybe you don't believe in a civilized society but then The Philippines isn't as you are sure to find out.
